When the Yongding River entered Beijing, the first gate was the Guanting Reservoir. The water in the Yongding River was not clean and was closely related to the Guanting. However, 1/4 of the official hall is located in Yanqing and 3/4 is located in Huailai County, Hebei Province. To purify water from the source, you must cross it to Hebei. Then, a planning map was formed: on the southwest side of Heituwa Village in Huailai County, a blueprint for a wetland named "Heituwa" was developed. This is the first ecological barrier for the Yongding River to enter Beijing, and it will turn sewage into a clear spring.

After coordinating and communicating with various parties in Hebei, in 2004, the Heituwa Wetland was completed and put into operation, covering an area of more than 100 football fields. The water from the black-green Yongding River was first introduced into the wetland, passed through the sand-settling area, floating water plant area, and anaerobic purification area, and turned into Qingqing Spring, then slowly entered the Guanting Reservoir and flowed to Beijing.

The second picture: the front line of the five lakes—time comes to 2009. In order to reopen the meridian of the ecological civilization of the capital, the comprehensive management of the Beijing urban section of the Yongding River is on the agenda.

The third picture: Bridge No. 8 Wetland-To relive the Yongding River, clean running water is a prerequisite. Where does the running water come from? Hebei! In November 2014, Beijing and Hebei jointly prepared the “Plans for the Construction of Ecological Clean Watersheds in Five Cities in Chengde and Zhangjiakou Upstream of Miyun Reservoir in Hebei Province”, and planned to use 22 years to build 22 ecological clean watersheds in Chengde and Zhangjiakou. The area reaches 600 square kilometers.

According to the new drawings, the total area of the three major wetlands around the Guanting Reservoir and one reservoir zone exceeds 20 square kilometers. By 2030, a flowing, green, clean and safe Yongding River will be in sight.

Building a shared ecological environment

The Ministry of Environmental Protection, Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province have formed a set of air quality forecasting consultation mechanisms. The forecast results provide decision-making basis for air pollution prevention and response to severely polluted weather in various places; the water quality of Panda Reservoir has improved after cleaning the cages, The water quality of the three rivers leading to the Jinli River, Shahe River, and Linhe River has reached Class III ....
